In case you missed it, MHT has already made suggestions on 5 of the 15 DVD releases for August 2nd. Once you’ve digested those, here’s the next batch of what to buy, rent, stream and skip for August 2nd:The Bronze —MOVIE HOT TAKE REVIEW—

You’re from Russia.
MHT Verdict: Buy it!
It might not be the best movie of 2016, it might bring the most laughs. It’s one of those comedies that if it strikes you, you’re going to want to see it again and again.
Confirmation –NO REVIEW–
Super Simple Synopsis: The HBO movie about the Clarence Thomas/Anita Hill controversy.
Because, as always, these HBO movies produce incredible casts: Kerry Washington, Wendell Pierce, Jennifer Hudson, Greg Kinnear, Jeffrey Wright.
You wanted to see it when it came on but you have Showtime.
Your friend let you have access to their HBO Go account.
There’s a pubic hair on your Coke.
MHT Verdict: Stream it!
HBO turns out a quality product and Confirmation looks like a continuation of those efforts.
Last Days in the Desert –NO REVIEW–
Super Simple Synopsis: Jesus vs. the Devil in the desert.
Ewan McGregor as Jesus and the Devil sounds like a winning concept.
You’re not sure of the concept but Emmanuel Lubezki is the cinematographer and he won the Academy Award for Best Cinematography in 2013’s Gravity, 2014’s Birdman and 2015’s The Revenant.
There’s irony in streaming a movie that takes place in the desert and it isn’t lost on you.
If you’re going to watch Ewan McGregor in the desert, that desert better be on Tatooine.
MHT Verdict: Rent it!
Leave out the fact that the movie sounds intriguing, Lubezki’s work as cinematographer is typically something to marvel. There’s no way you should skip this one.
Mother’s Day —MOVIE HOT TAKE REVIEW—
Super Simple Synopsis: Yet another horrible ensemble holiday flick.
You think it would make a good coaster.
The entire Redbox catalog is sold out with the exception of Mother’s Day and you have a rare medical condition that causes you to lapse into a coma if you don’t see a new movie every 24 hours.
Getting annoyed helps you sleep.
You can’t unsee it… trust me.
MHT Verdict: Skip it!
The Trust –NO REVIEW–
Super Simple Synopsis: Two bored cops on administrative duty decide to rob a drug dealer.
Jerry Lewis has a bit part in it and you’re French.
It has Elijah Wood and Nicholas Cage in it. How bad could it be?
North and The Wicker Man.
Did you see that ridiculous mustache Nicholas Cage is sporting?
MHT Verdict: Stream it!
But you should have a quick trigger finger with the Stop button on the remote.
