The “Thumbs Up” Group
Swiss Army Man (4 / 5) REVIEW
The Infiltrator (4 / 5) REVIEW
Sometimes movies can be insanely unique which adds to their fabulousness, sometimes they can overcome being completely generic and still be wonderful. Both Swiss Army Man and The Infiltrator are aided by excellent casting and stellar performances.
The Shallows (3.5 / 5) REVIEW
The Lobster (3.5 / 5) REVIEW
Finding Dory (3.5 / 5) REVIEW
The BFG (3.5 / 5) REVIEW
Our Kind of Traitor (3.5 / 5) REVIEW
Free State of Jones (3.5 / 5) REVIEW
While there weren’t any 4 1/2 or 5 star movies in the last 25, there were a number of very good movies that didn’t quite achieve greatness. Notice only one sequel though… we’ll get to those, soon enough.
Mr. Right (3 / 5) REVIEW
The cheese stands alone when it’s the right kind of cheese.
The “Thumbs Eh” Group
Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates (2.5 / 5) REVIEW
The Secret Life of Pets (2.5 / 5) REVIEW
The only two things these movies have in common are their release date and ridiculously long titles. Other than that, you’re looking at two very different movies that were just okay.
The “Thumbs Down” Group
The Legend of Tarzan (2 / 5) REVIEW
The Confirmation (2 / 5) REVIEW
Now You See Me 2 (2 / 5) REVIEW
Central Intelligence (2 / 5) REVIEW
Clown (2 / 5) REVIEW
Warcraft (2 / 5) REVIEW
The Conjuring 2 (2 / 5) REVIEW
Alice Through the Looking Glass (2 / 5) REVIEW
The Neon Demon (2 / 5) REVIEW
These movies were just below average. On one hand, they all have a reason to watch but leave something to be desired. Two more sequels, a reboot and a video game conversion make this group which is typical when get to the “Thumbs Down” section.
400 Days (1.5 / 5) REVIEW
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (1.5 / 5) REVIEW
The Purge: Election Year (1.5 / 5) REVIEW
Independence Day: Resurgence (1.5 / 5) REVIEW
Dane Cook. Unnecessary. Unnecessary. Unnecessary. Oh and Dane Cook is synonymous with unnecessary.
Get A Job (1 / 5) REVIEW
When a movie sits on the shelf for 4 years and then is quietly released, beware!
